Disciples of Christ Historical
Society, Nashville, Tenn,, past
president of the Council of
Southwestern Theological
Schools, and a member of the
American Society of Church
History, American Academy of
Religion, and the American
Historical Society.
Two books have been written
by Tucker, “A Journey in Faith:
A History of the Christian
Church,” co-authored with
Lester G. McAlliaster, and “J.H.
Garrison and Disciples of
Christ.” He has been a con
tributor to, “The Word We
Preach,” “Dictionary of
American Biography,” and
“The Westminister Dictionary
of Church History.”
Elected to honorary mem
bership in Phi Beta Kappa in
1976, he is listed in “Who’s Who
in America,” “Contemporary
Authors,” and “Who’s Who in
Religion.”
He and his wife, Jean, a
graduate of Texas Christian
University, have two sons,
Vance and Will, and a daughter,
Jan.

Dr. William E. Tucker,
president of Bethany College,
Bethany, W. Va., will be guest
speaker for Atlantic Christian
College's 76th Annual Com
mencement, to be held Friday,
.May 12.
A native of Charlotte, he at
tended East Carolina University
and Atlantic Christian College
where he received the A.B.
degree in 1953. He received the
B.D. degree from Texas
Christian University in 1956, and
liie M.A. and Ph.D. degrees
from Yale University in 1960.
Tucker assumed the
presidency of Bethany College in
1976. Earlier he served as dean
ol Brite Divinity School, Texas
Christian University. He joined
the faculty of TCU in 1966 as
assistant dean before becoming
associate dean in 1969, dean-
elect in 1970, and dean in 1971.
He served as a member of the
Atlantic Chrsitian College
Bulletin Board

Ensemble Program
The ACC Music Department
will present the Vocal Ensemble
assisted by the Brass Ensemble
and organist Charles Rakow in a
program of sacred music for
voices, brass and organ on
Sunday, April 9th, at 6 p.m. in
the sanctuary of the First
Baptist Church of Wilson. The
program will be conducted by
Robert Daniel of the music
faculty. Allen Molineux directs
the Brass Ensemble. The con
cert program is open to the
public with no admission charge.

Lynam In Concert
Charles Lynam, baritone, will
be presented in concert on the
Atlantic Christian College
campus, Monday, April 10, at 8
p.m., in Howard Chapel. His
appearance is sponsored by the
ACC Concert and Lecture
Committee.
His program will include
recitative pieces, “Air” by
Haydn, and “Si, tra i ceppi,” by
Handel. Also included will be
“Widmung,” “DieLotosblume,
“Wanderlied,” and “Zwei
Venetianische Lieder,” all by
Schumann. There will be two
arias from “Rigoletto” by Verdi.
Following an intermission he
will perform “Chanson triste,”
and “Phidyle,” by Duparc, and
“Don quichotte a Dulcinee,” by
Ravel. Also included will be
“Go, lovely rose,” and “Love’s
philosophy” by Quilter; and In
the silent night,” and “Spring
waters,” by Rachmaninov.
Lynam is associate professor
of music at the University of
North Carolina at Greensboro.
He has been presented in
numerous recital and oratorio
performances, and soloist on
several occasions with the
Greensboro, Charlotte, and x ■
Symphony Orchestras, and also
a performance with the E^astern
Philharmonic Orchestra.
The concert is open to the
public free of charge.
Lecture Slide
Presentation
Dr. William Still, Professor of
History at East Carolina
University will give a lecture-
slide presentation on the Monitor
and Civil War Naval History.

College Campus. Dr. Still’s
appearance is under the
auspices of the History
Department, Pi Gamma Mu
Social Science Honorary
Society, and the Wilson County
Historical Association.
Dr. Still is a member of the
Board of Directors. .Monitor
Research and Recovery
Foundation and of the National
.Monitor Advisory Committee.
The speaker is a holder of
M.A. and Ph.D. Degrees from
the University of Alabama.

Wenger Hull
To lie Dedirnted
The Arthur D. Wenger
Residence Hall at Atlantic
Christian College will be
dedicated on May 1, according to
an announcement by Harold C.
Doster, president of the college.
The event will honor the
memory of the eighth president
of the college who died Feb. 25,
1977, in his 2Ist year as chief
executive of the institution.
The program, to which the
public is invited, will begin at
4:30 p.m.. at the residence hall
located at Deaas and Lee
Streets. A reception and tours of
the building will be held
following the dedication.
In making the announcement,
Doster named a program
committee for the observance.
Named were David L.
Cleveland, chairman and
director of development; Milton
L. Adams, vice president and
business manager; Miss Sarah
Bain Ward, dean of women; Dan
Hensley, chaplain; and William
E. Smith, director of alumni
affairs.
